Our refined second-generation open comb, perfected since its 2021 debut. The Lambda Ares v2 balances the effectiveness of its predecessor with a gentler, more controlled shave—positioning it as a mild to medium aggressive instrument. Crafted from mirror-polished stainless steel and presented in a solid Manchurian ashwood case, it represents the evolution of precision grooming.

Why "Ares" ?

Named for the Greek god of war and valor, the Lambda Ares v2 channels both precision and power. This open-comb razor embodies the duality of its namesake—delivering an effective, commanding performance while maintaining refined control. Made in in mirror-polished stainless steel, it transforms daily grooming into an act of deliberate mastery.




Inspired by the god of war, the Lambda Ares v2 merges aggressive efficiency with refined smoothness. Building on the original's formidable performance, this evolution delivers a mild to medium aggressive shave without compromise—a razor engineered for those who demand both power and finesse in their grooming ritual.

Head Design

A traditionally-inspired head refined through meticulous engineering, the Ares v2 achieves equilibrium between cutting efficiency and comfort. Every detail has been calibrated to deliver a balanced shave—neither compromising on performance nor sacrificing the smoothness discerning users expect.

• Edge-to-edge clamping: This is one of the most important aspects of our designs and we have implemented it from the very beginning. This type of blade clamping eliminates blade chatter, resulting in a smoother shave. The blade cuts through like a laser beam, effortlessly gliding through the hair.
• Neutral blade exposure: With zero blade exposure, you can be sure that the razor is safe, even for a beginner in traditional wet shaving.
• Small blade gap: Ares v2 features a relatively small blade gap, while still being highly efficient. Again, this adds up to Ares v2 being safe and smooth for everyone.
  

Handle Design

The handle draws its aesthetic from classical Doric architecture, translating timeless proportions into contemporary form. This design philosophy infuses the razor with understated elegance—a tactile expression of refined craftsmanship that elevates the grooming experience beyond mere function.

Material

Lambda Ares v2 combines pure copper's characteristic warm, pinkish-orange tone with a mirror-polished finish. Mirror polishing helps to slow patina development. In humid environments, the metal will naturally oxidize over time—a process managed through disciplined maintenance routines. Proper care preserves the lustrous surface and structural integrity with minimal intervention, sustaining both visual refinement and performance longevity.

Manufacturing

We are proud to manufacture our razors in Greece. The razors are manufactured entirely on the latest spec CNC machines, and we always ensure that the components are made with the highest precision.

The components are hand-finished to a mirror-like polish. This is a meticulous task that requires a lot of time time and attention to detail.

We utilize the laser engraving technique for logos and serial numbers.

Serial Numbering

Each Lambda Ares v2 receives a distinctive serial identifier engraved beneath the base plate, establishing provenance and manufacturing chronology. The alphanumeric format—xx-yyy—encodes the production year and sequential batch position, with yyy commencing at 001 for each annual production cycle. This systematic identification protocol ensures complete traceability and authenticates each razor's manufacturing lineage.

Personalised Booklet

Each razor comes with a personalized booklet. On the first inside page, there is the serial number of the razor, the model, and the name of the customer, all of which are handwritten. There is also a hand sign at the bottom of the page. This way, you can be sure that your razor is genuine. We also provide some brief information about “Lambda Razors” and our products.

Lambda Razors stands alone in the safety razor category through its commitment to luxury presentation architecture. The packaging philosophy reflects a foundational belief: that a precision-engineered collectible instrument deserves presentation commensurate with its craftsmanship and intended longevity. The unboxing experience functions as an integral component of the product narrative, ensuring that aesthetic and tactile excellence extend from the instrument itself through every touchpoint of ownership.

Lambda Ares v2 includes a bespoke protective case fabricated from solid African mahogany, engineered via precision CAD design and manufactured to exact dimensional specifications. The case functions as both protective and presentation platform, embodying the same commitment to material excellence and technical rigor that characterizes the razor itself.

The mahogany case comprises two precision-machined components featuring engineered recesses that secure the razor with zero tolerance, preventing movement during transport or storage. The interior surfaces are lined with specialized beige suede-finish fabric, providing protective cushioning that safeguards both the instrument and case from contact damage while ensuring stable positioning throughout the case lifecycle.

The mahogany case employs bronze hinges to articulate its two-piece construction, with embedded magnets ensuring secure closure during transport and storage. The top surface features laser-engraved branding and model iconography, while the base displays the Lambda Razors website identifier.

Material selection for the Lambda Ares v2's protective case reflects extensive research into wood species capable of complementing the razor's aesthetic and functional character. African mahogany was chosen for its inherent luxury positioning and visual harmony with the bronze instrument, establishing a cohesive material narrative throughout the complete product ecosystem.

African mahogany exhibits chromatic variation spanning pale rose through deep golden-brown, contingent upon geographic origin, growth conditions, and specific Khaya species designation. The wood naturally displays figuring characteristics—ribbon, wavy, or mottled patterns—with inherent chatoyance that enhances visual depth. Grain structure typically manifests as straight or interlocked configurations, facilitating superior workability and finishing while occasionally presenting technical challenges during precision machining operations on interlocked-grain specimens.
