The Iconic Silhouette

Athena is the second model released by Lambda Razors in 2021 leaving an impact in the traditional shaving scene. Athena was the Greek goddess of wisdom, so you would expect this razor to be clever in design and features. It’s a closed comb head design that featues a very stiff mounting of the blade, eliminating chattering. It has an innovative way to clean up foam from the head through its sides via a hhydronamically designed path. This ensures that the head will never clog and at the same time, foam will not be driven to the handle as you shave. The razor comes with a special and luxurious solid mahogany case.

As per the e-mail of thanks I sent to Theo, he’s made a retired man very very happy, The Presentation ( the gorgeous Mahogony box and felt inserts) and Performance (BBS with a 2 pass shave, visible rinse clean viewing, balance and grip) equals Perfection!! So much so I have my name down for the proposed AC razor and seriously contemplating an Ares (Not sure V1 or2?)

Shaving as Art: The Athena Experience

Athena is seriously a perfect piece of art. Not only does it do an amazing job with shaving, but it also doubles as a beautiful piece to display in your shaving setup, just there to admire. After you’ve done a good warm-up on your skin, using it feels like a goddess gently caressing your face and neck with her tongue. All in all, I absolutely love it!

Perfect tool

I received the razor five days ago and have just finished my second shave. Usually when I buy a new high-end razor, I’m often left with mixed feelings. In this case, though, I can definitely say that it’s a great combination of softness and performance. The shaving angle is intuitive and you don’t have to spend a lot of time trying to overdo it. From the first run through, I knew this was a very special instrument. Apart from the brilliant looks, obviously the engineering work regarding the geometry and the way it actually works is extremely good.

A (fierce) piece of Art

I received the razor nearly a month ago but wanted to do some shaves before writing a review:
First things first, Athena is a safety razor of unparalleled beauty. The design of the handle resembling an ancient Greek Amforeas is an idea that distinguishes it from all other razors and makes it truly unique.
To the most important part now: the razor is truly a “weapon”. Even though it is the mild one (between that and its brother “Ares”), it ‘s highly efficient. Personally I use it to clear-off 3-5 day beard and it works perfectly, leaving me without any irritations. Now combining it with a Feather blade, really turns it in a “weapon of mass destruction”…
Being relatively new to this kind of shaving, my previous experience with the “well known” beginner’s razor of the industry, left me disappointed and unhappy as it simply did not “cut” enough for me. So I decided to instantly go for a more expensive but definitely more efficient and high end piece of equipment. I could not be more happy with my decision – Athena gave me what I was looking for.
Only “problem” now is that I got intrigued and wonder what “Ares” can do too….I think I ‘ll join the waiting list for that soon enough.

suberb razor

all you can expect in a razor
i want get into technical info -theo has that in great detail on website
this is extremely well made/machined razor- great finish
absolutely no machine marks- great cap- sometimes even on high end razors the cap is a little thin making edges slightly sharp – not the case hear
base plate has water grooves for foam and water to flow thru while shaving – works perfectly – super design
love the handle several different designs including a ring hear the bottom – the very bottom has a button design- ok
but has no bearing on shave- the handle although smooth
is not slick and does not slip in hands- weight is geared more to top of handle and i would consider this more of a cap cutting razor ( shallow angle) good weight not overly heavy
shave was spot on – i would consider medium mild to mild mild- no irritation or minor cuts – my blade of choice is persona made in usa ( more on the sharp side of razors but smooth)
would highly recommend this razor for the individuals who have sensitive skin and like a mild effortless shave

The Athena Is The Best Razor

Theo is a master craftsman!! I have been using my new Athena for about a week exclusively, I’m extremely impressed. I don’t know how he does it, and it’s a trade secret of his success, but the Athena is very efficient while providing an ultra comfortable shave!! I don’t have experience using a lot of razors, but of the 3 I currently have, it’s the most stunningly beautiful razor and the most comfortable to use!! I’m very impressed with the shave results, but I’m equally mesmerized by the razor’s beauty!! I love the thoughtfulness Theo put into the design of the handle—love the polish, but I especially love the matte finish that Theo incorporated to enhance the handle grip. The Athena seems to be a very innovative, unique design, especially the handle. Amazing!! If I could have a backup Athena I would!! I also want others to be able to experience the joy of using an Athena too. I would recommend an Athena to anyone in the market for an exceptional quality razor. Theo provides excellent customer service that equals the attention he dedicates to producing wonderful razors!!

What a lovley Razor

The Athena is mild and damn thorough. Due to its weight and shape, it can be guided cleanly. With the grain is a pleasure, against the grain the Athena revealed its strength. Without grumbling or hacking in the slightest, it glided perfectly over the skin. Very clean, no irritation. After a short water shave to clean off my chin and then cold water, my skin felt great. The processing is perfect. Like the shave itself, the safety razor is also a dream to look at. A very nice piece of innovation.
